8th Islamic Financial Services Board Summit at NCCK
The four-day event in May 2011 was hosted by the Central Bank of Luxembourg and had as its theme Enhancing Global Financial Stability: Challenges and Opportunities for Islamic Finance. The programme included two pre-summit days at the Chamber of Commerce as well as the two days of the Islamic Financial Services Board Summit itself at the NCCK in Kirchberg. Luxembourg based company emotion event management helped the IFSB and Central Bank prepare and manage the entire summit, from the initial planning phase to the post-event debriefing.
A number of renowned keynote speakers were attracted to the event. Selected guests were even treated to an audience with Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and to lunch with Luxembourg finance minister Luc Frieden. For a summit of such international standing, the quality of online and offline visibility was essential. Following a briefing with the IFSB, emotion developed a new graphics charter for the 2011 summit. Everything from web visuals to invitation cards were meticulously designed to deliver a coherent message and give a clear aesthetic dimension to the event.
The rest of the programme included workshops and country showcases at the Chamber of Commerce, keynote speakers, networking breaks and a gala dinner in the Atrium of the nearby Sofitel on Kirchberg.
The agency’s tasks included the comprehensive logistical management and coordination of the summit. In addition, emotion took care of on-site sign posts, stage decor, publicity and marketing, the design and installation of furniture at the conference centre and other sites used during the summit, the writing of editorial content and design of an exhibition handbook detailing the summit’s 20 or so exhibitors, sound and lighting, photographers and caterers.
The event was a success and put Luxembourg’s financial services centre firmly in the spotlight.
