In recent years, intellectual property in connection with extra-terrestrial activities has attracted increasing attention. This goes together with the fact that space activities, historically state-initiated, are increasingly becoming privately and commercially supported.
In the framework of the new Luxembourgian law related to the exploration and utilisation of space resources, a conference “Innovation, space technologies, and patents” is being held in English on 8 October 2018 at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. It is being organised by the European Patent Academy of the European Patent Organisation, the Luxembourg IP Office and the Office of Space Affairs (the latter two both being parts of the Ministry of the Economy of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg).
Participants from industry and research, IP and Patent Offices, customs officials, patent attorneys, policy makers, investors and the interested public are welcome to attend. Participation is free of charge. Available seating is limited and registrations will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis.
